Symptomatic treatment of complaints in inflammation of the airways (cough, difficulty in expectoration) in the course of colds and chronic inflammation of the bronchi.
Composition:
100 ml of syrup contains 0.8 g of ivy leaf extract (2.2-2.9: 1); extractant ethanol 96% (V / V): propylene glycol: water (45: 2: 53) m / m / m. The preparation contains sorbitol.
Action:
The effectiveness of the preparation is based only on long-term use and experience. The expectorant effect is probably caused by irritation of the gastric mucosa. The sensory fibers of the parasympathetic system stimulate the reflex of the mucous glands of the bronchial mucosa.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the extracts of ivy leaves or any of the preparation ingredients. It should not be used in people with arginine succinate synthesis disorders (metabolic disease of the urea cycle); in a single case, in a five-year-old child with a suspected disorder of arginine succinate synthesis, a second symptom-induced episode of symptoms was observed, associated with the use of an identical preparation. The preparation can not be used in patients with congenital fructose intolerance.
Precautions:
5 ml (1 teaspoon) contains 1.75 g of sorbitol (source: 0.44 g of fructose), corresponding to approximately 0.15 carbohydrate units. Sorbitol may have a slight laxative effect. Due to the content of plant extract, the preparation may form a sediment in the bottle, the precipitate may cause a turbidity of the solution, and the taste may change slightly.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects:
Sensitive people may experience gastric symptoms.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children over 10 years of age: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 3 times daily. Children 5-10 years old: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) 4 times a day. Children 1-5 years old: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) 3 times a day. Children under 1 year: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) once a day.
