A herbal medicine used as an expectorant in the case of a productive (wet) cough.
Composition:
5 ml of syrup contains 27.78 mg of dry extract from ivy leaves (and 4.2 g of liquid sorbitol - E420). Extract - ethanol 30% (m / m).
Action:
An expectorant drug.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to other family plantsAraliaceae or to any of the excipients. Children <2 years (risk of deterioration of respiratory symptoms).
Precautions:
Due to the irritating properties of saponins, use caution in patients with gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. If you have dyspnoea, fever or purulent sputum, consult your doctor. The syrup does not contain sugar, it can be used by diabetics. It contains liquid sorbitol (E420) - 4.2 g / 5 ml, equivalent to 2.94 g of sorbitol and is equivalent to 0.245 units of bread. Due to the sorbitol content, the drug should not be used in patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Due to the lack of sufficient data, use in pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.
Orally. Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents from 12 years: 5 ml 1-3 times daily. Children 6-12 years old: 2.5 ml 2-3 times a day. Children 2-5 years: 1.6 ml 2-3 times a day.
