Local, symptomatic treatment of nasal obstruction caused by excessive or too viscous secretions.
Composition:
1 ml of aerosol contains 50 mg of mesna (sodium 2-mercaptoethanesulfonate). 1 dose contains 5 mg of mesna.
Action:
Mucolytic drug, which works by fragmentation of mucous glycoproteins and dissolution of released fragments, which facilitates the evacuation of mucus by increasing its fluidity.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to mesna, other compounds containing thiol or sulphonamide derivatives or any of the excipients. Asthma that runs without the buildup of excessive mucus and associated airway obstruction. Asthmatic condition. Children aged <2 years (no clinical data on use in children and possible risk of bronchial spasm).
Precautions:
Do not spray near eyes. Especially careful use in patients with asthma due to the possibility of bronchospasm. There are no adequate data on the safety and efficacy of the medicine in children and adolescents - this should not be used.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. Avoid using the drug during breastfeeding or stop feeding during treatment with the preparation.
Side effects:
The following may occur: irritation of the nasal mucous membrane, hypersensitivity reactions, angioneurotic edema, erythematous rash (erythema), urticaria, cough, bronchospasm (especially in hypersensitive patients with asthma).
Dosage:
Intranasally. 1 dose to each nostril if necessary, on average 4 times a day until the symptoms disappear.
