The preparation is traditionally used in catarrh of the upper respiratory tract and inflammatory changes of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat.
Composition:
100 g of syrup contains 12 g of liquid extract of the plantain leaf (1: 2,0-2,5). The preparation contains approx. 6% ethanol and sucrose.
Action:
The effectiveness of the preparation is based only on long-term use and experience. Extract from the leaf of the plantain has a mild anti-inflammatory effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat; alleviating irritations reduces congestion of mucous membranes. It has a weak antibacterial and astringent effect. It contains iridoid glycosides, such as aukubozyd and katalpol and tannins.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Do not use in pregnant or breast-feeding women, in children under the age of 6, and in high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
Precautions:
Due to the sucrose content, caution should be used in patients with diabetes. 7.5 ml of syrup contains 5.6 g of sucrose. 10 ml of syrup contains 7.5 g of sucrose, 15 ml of syrup contains 11.25 g of sucrose. Patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance, Glucose malabsorption, galactose or saccharase deficiency, isomaltase should not take the preparation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Category C, variant B. It is not known if the medicine may cause fetal distress in animals because appropriate studies have not been performed. There were also no adequate, well-controlled observations in humans.

Dosage:
Orally. Children 6-10 years old:3/4 scoops (7.5 ml) 5 times a day. Children 10-12 years of age: 1 scoop (10 ml) 4 times a day. Youth from 13 yrs and adults: 1-11/2 scoops (10-15 ml) 5 times a day.
