Ointment for topical application to the skin, indicated in order to protect the skin against adverse weather conditions (cold, wind), after slight frostbite, burns, excessive dryness of the skin and excessive keratinization of the epidermis.
Composition:
1 g Ointment contains 500 IU. retynol palmitate.
Action:
Retinol palmitate is characterized by greater resistance to oxidizing agents than vitamin A. Vitamin A is an essential factor for the proper growth of skin and mucous membranes. Due to the support of regenerative processes, the skin is applied locally in superficial tissue damage (eg burns, frostbite). It reduces the cornification of the epidermis and soothes inflammation of the skin, moreover it protects the skin against the influence of adverse external factors (cold, wind). Lanolin added to the ointment base facilitates the absorption of vitamin A through the skin and improves the consistency of the ointment.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Retinol palmitate (vitamin A) and lanolin or to any of the ingredients.
Precautions:
Preparation for use on the skin, do not use on wounds and mucous membranes. Protect eyes from contact with the preparation. Due to the lanolin content, the preparation may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no data on use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Vitamin A in high doses may be teratogenic.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Dosage:
Externally: Apply a thin layer of ointment rubbed 1-2 times a day to the affected, previously cleansed areas of the skin. If necessary, apply several times a day.
