Symptomatic in hyperacidity of gastric juice, damage to gastric and duodenal mucosa caused by ulcerogenic factors (eg non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.
Composition:
1 tabl contains 340 mg of dihydroxyaluminium carbonate. 15 ml of the suspension contains 1.02 g of dihydroxyaluminum sodium carbonate. 1 tabl contains 57 mg sodium; 15 ml of the suspension contains 162 mg of sodium.
Action:
Preparation neutralizing excess hydrochloric acid in gastric juice. Dihydroxy aluminum-sodium carbonate has a fast neutralizing effect similar to that of sodium bicarbonate and the slow action of aluminum hydroxide formed in the stomach. It binds bile acids and pepsin, reducing the irritant effect of gastric juice. Protects the gastric mucosa against irritants such as NSAIDs, cytostatics, caffeine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Severe renal failure.
Precautions:
Use cautiously in patients prone to constipation. Prolonged intake of high doses of the preparation may lead to hypophosphatemia. Administration of the preparation to children under 6 years must be preceded by a detailed diagnosis, determining the cause of the complaint. The product contains sodium - this should be taken into account in patients with impaired renal function and in patients who control sodium in the diet. Due to the content of methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate in suspension, the drug may cause late-type allergic reactions. Suspensions should not be used in patients with fructose intolerance.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy (especially in the first trimester) and during breastfeeding, the preparation should only be used if justified. Do not use in long-term or high doses.
Side effects:
Common: chalky aftertaste, mild constipation, stomach cramps. Uncommon: nausea, vomiting, whitish stool. Rarely (with prolonged use or administration of high doses): constant constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, muscle weakness, osteomalacia and osteoporosis (bone pain, swelling of the wrists or ankles).
