indications:
Inflammation of the gastric mucosa associated with hyperacidity. Symptomatic treatment of reflux oesophagitis. Supportive treatment of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Composition:
1 tabl for sucking contains 500 mg of aluminum hydroxide (hydrated aluminum oxide); tablets contain sucrose.
Action:
A preparation that works locally in the stomach. Aluminum compounds react in the stomach with hydrochloric acid to form aluminum chloride. As a result, slow and moderate gastric contents are brought to pH 4, which reduces the damaging effect of hydrochloric acid on the gastric mucosa and the initial duodenum segment. Aluminum compounds do not cause secondary hyperacidity and they have astringent and stunning effect. With normal kidney function, aluminum compounds only absorb in a small amount, and the absorbed portion is quickly excreted in the urine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Hypophosphatemia. Stenosis of the large intestine. Severe renal failure (risk of accumulation of aluminum ions). Simultaneous use of drugs or dietary supplements in the form of tablets. effervescent citric acid (especially in patients with impaired renal function). Children <6 years.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with mild or moderate renal insufficiency - the risk of accumulation of aluminum ions in the body and decrease in the absorption of phosphates, which may increase the risk of osteomalacia, encephalopathy and dementia. The accumulation of aluminum ions may also occur in patients with porphyria undergoing hemodialysis. Prolonged absorption of aluminum salts may reduce the absorption of phosphates - do not use for longer than 4 weeks (without medical consultation). Due to the sucrose content, the drug is not recommended in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Animal studies have shown no adverse effects associated with the use of aluminum hydroxide during pregnancy and lactation; no controlled studies in humans. Wash carefully during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Do not use for more than 28 days.
Side effects:
Side effects, if present, are usually mild and transient. No serious adverse reactions related to the use of hydrated aluminum have been observed. Not known: gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections (due to alkalisation of the environment caused by long-term use of high doses), acid-base disturbances (especially in patients with renal insufficiency), loss of appetite, constipation (with long-term use of high doses), malaise slight decrease in pepsin activity.
Dosage:
Oral: 1-2 tabl. for sucking 1-2 h after meals and additionally before bedtime or temporarily - in the case of ailments. Do not exceed the daily dose of 12 tablets. for sucking.
