Treatment of ailments occurring in the course of: peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (assisting or temporarily in the case of ailments), hyperacidity of gastric juice, oesophageal reflux, heartburn.
Composition:
100 g of the suspension contains 4.5 g of aluminum phosphate. The product contains sucrose.
Action:
A drug that neutralizes the hydrochloric acid of gastric juice, which also works as a shielding and astringent. Aluminum phosphate has a protective effect on the mucous membrane of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum by forming a protective layer. The suspension facilitates the even distribution of the drug on the mucous membrane, which facilitates its healing. The aluminum chloride formed as a result of the neutralization reaction is astringent and anti-inflammatory. The addition of peppermint oil provides a slight antispasmodic effect in digestive disorders.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to aluminum phosphate or any of the excipients. Severe renal failure.
Precautions:
Do not use the drug for a long time. If symptoms persist, the diagnosis should be verified. Due to the aluminum content and the possibility of its accumulation, caution should be used in patients with impaired renal function. Long-term use in dialysis patients may increase the risk of encephalopathy. Use with caution in children under 6 years of age, especially dehydrated or with renal insufficiency. In the digestive tract, aluminum forms insoluble compounds with phosphates. Long-term use of the suspension reduces the absorption of phosphorus, which in the case of insufficient supply of phosphorus in food may lead to its deficiency. Carefully used in patients with diabetes (the preparation contains 40 g sugar in 100 g suspension). Patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take the preparation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy and breast-feeding, the drug should be used with caution, as indicated. Do not increase the recommended doses or long-term use.
Side effects:
Constipation. As a result of long-term use may increase the concentration of aluminum in the blood and lower the concentration of phosphates (hypophosphatemia). Symptoms of hypophosphatemia include: anorexia, malaise, muscle weakness, osteomalacia. Elderly people are at risk of developing or worsening Alzheimer's disease symptoms.
Dosage:
Oral: 1 teaspoon (in more severe cases, tablespoon) three times a day before meals or 1-2 h after each meal and immediately before bedtime. The maximum daily dose is 100 ml. Shake the bottle before use.
