Symptomatic treatment of stomach ailments such as indigestion, heartburn, hyperacidity, epigastric pain, not related to organic gastrointestinal disease.
Composition:
1 tabl Effervescent (Fast) contains 150 mg Ranitidine as hydrochloride; drug contains aspartame, sodium and sorbitol. 1 tabl powl. contains 75 mg (Pro) or 150 mg (Max) ranitidine as the hydrochloride salt; The drug contains sunset yellow.
Action:
A specific, fast-acting histamine H receptor antagonist2. It inhibits both basic and postprandial secretion of hydrochloric acid and reduces the secretion of pepsin in gastric juice. Ranitidine is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching Cmax after 2-3 h. It works about 12 hours. It is excreted in the urine, mainly unchanged. T0,5 is about 2.5-3 h.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Children <16 years. Table. sparkling: porphyria, phenylketonuria.
Precautions:
Avoid use in patients with a history of severe porphyria (risk of developing a seizure). Exercise caution in patients with impaired renal function; impaired liver function; during combination therapy with NSAIDs, especially in elderly patients and patients with peptic ulcer disease. In patients with suspected or diagnosed peptic ulcer disease, as well as any disturbing symptoms (eg, unintended weight reduction, difficulty swallowing, persistent abdominal pain), the cancerous background of the disease should be excluded, as treatment with ranitidine can relieve symptoms of stomach cancer and delay its recognition. In elderly, diabetic or immunodeficient patients, there is an increased risk of developing pneumonia during ranitidine treatment, at a time of increased severity of this disease. Table. sparkling contains sorbitol, which can cause irritation and diarrhea, due to the sorbitol content of the drug in this form should not be used in patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance; in addition, tabl. effervescent sodium - be cautious in patients on low sodium diet and aspartame - should not be used in patients with phenylketonuria. Table. powl. contain an orange yellow which may cause allergic reactions.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only if absolutely necessary.

Very rare: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis or pancytopenia with bone marrow aplasia or hypoplasia, anaphylactic shock, confusion, depression and hallucinations (especially in seriously ill and elderly patients), headache and dizziness, transient disturbances related to involuntary movements, transient blurred vision , possibly as a result of disturbed eye accommodation, bradycardia, atrioventricular block, vasculitis, acute pancreatitis, diarrhea, hepatitis (cellular, tubular or mixed) with or without jaundice, usually transient, erythema multiforme, hair loss, joint pain and muscle, interstitial nephritis, impotence, gynecomastia, galactorrhoea.
