Therapy for constipation. Conditions when it is desired to defecate with a soft stool, e.g. in painful cases of defecation after surgery of the rectum or anus, anal fissures or haemorrhoids. Conditions when an increased daily intake of fiber is indicated, eg for auxiliary in the treatment of constipation form of the irritable bowel syndrome and diet modification in hypercholesterolemia.
Composition:
1 g of the preparation contains 1 g of egg-white seed husk.
Action:
A plant preparation with an increase in the volume of stool. Included egg scales in the preparation absorb water in a volume corresponding to forty times the weight of the substance. The volume of soft stool is increased, and peristaltic movements are stimulated and the intestinal transit accelerated. The granulate absorbs water and increases its volume. A sticky substance is formed because the product is only partially dissolved. Below 10% of the sticky substance undergoes hydrolysis in the stomach; well-absorbed arabinose is well absorbed. The period of operation of the egg husk seed is 12-24 h after a single dose. In some cases, the maximum effect does not appear within 2-3 days. The flora that inhabits a large human intestine breaks down the polysaccharides contained in the preparation.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Situations of sudden changes and defecation disorders lasting longer than 2 weeks, with not diagnosed rectal bleeding and lack of defecation after using the laxative. Unusual structure of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the esophagus and gastric gullet, potential or active intestinal obstruction, intestinal palsy or colon colon, difficult to compensate for diabetes.
