1 tabl contains 513.5 mg of powdered rooting root (about 12.6 mg of anthranoid compounds calculated as rhein).
Action:
A preparation with a laxative effect. The laxative effect occurs after about 6-8 hours. The effectiveness of the preparation is based only on long-term use and experience.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Intestinal obstruction, acute and chronic intestinal inflammation (including ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), intestinal atony, appendicitis, abdominal pain of unknown etiology, hemorrhagic nodules, glomerulonephritis, oxalate carcinoma, diarrhea, dehydration and electrolyte disturbances. Children under 12 years. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions:
Chronic use can cause harmless and transient deposition of pigments in the intestinal mucosa (pseudomelanosis coli). Avoid use during menses. Taking long-term laxatives containing anthranoids may cause intestinal atony, severity of constipation, addiction associated with the need to take increased doses of medicines and may cause proteinuria and hematuria. The use of stimulating laxatives in chronic constipation can not replace the need to change the diet.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Rarely allergic reactions to the components of the preparation, diarrhea, hypokalaemia, cramps and abdominal pain may occur, especially in patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Yellow or red-brown (depending on pH) urine color induced by metabolites is clinically insignificant.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children> 12 years: 2 tabl. once before bedtime. If necessary, the dosage can be increased to 3 tablets a day. Long-term use of the preparation should be avoided.
