Local anesthesia (ascites and nerve blocks) for all conservative and surgical procedures in dentistry. Xylodont with adrenaline 1: 100,000 is indicated when it is desired to achieve local anesthesia with prolonged duration. Xylodont with adrenaline 1:80 000 and 1:50 000 should be used only when it is necessary to achieve a state of local anemization to reduce bleeding.
Composition:
Xylodont 2% with adrenaline 1:50 000: 1 ml solution contains 20 mg Lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.02 mg epinephrine adrenaline (1 cartridge 1.8 ml contains 36 mg lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.036 mg epinephrine adrenaline).Xylodont 2% with adrenaline 1:80 000: 1 ml solution contains 20 mg lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.0125 mg epinephrine adrenaline (1 cartridge 1.8 ml contains 36 mg lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.0225 mg epinephrine adrenaline).Xylodont 2% with adrenaline 1: 100,000: 1 ml of solution contains 20 mg lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.01 mg epinephrine adrenaline (1 ruler 1.8 ml contains 36 mg lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.018 mg epinephrine adrenaline).
Action:
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to lidocaine or adrenaline. The use of a medicine containing a vasoconstrictive agent is inadvisable in people with severe cardiac and peripheral artery disease, hypertension, migraine, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, prostatic hypertrophy, narrow-angle glaucoma and nephropathy.
Precautions:
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use during pregnancy.
Side effects:
Adverse reactions depend on the dose and may be due to high blood levels of the drug resulting from overdose, rapid absorption or accidental injection into the blood vessels may also be due to hypersensitivity, idiosyncrasy or reduced patient tolerance. Common: nausea, vomiting. Rarely: stimulation of the CNS with a state of excitement, tremors, confusion, dizziness, mydriasis, accelerated metabolism and elevated body temperature (after very large doses: lacrimation and convulsions), vasodilation, hypertension, arrhythmia, bradycardia, acceleration of breath, enlargement bronchi. Very rare: allergic reactions (in the most severe cases, anaphylactic shock). Not known: skin lesions, urticaria, swelling, sweating. A vasodilator may cause the following reactions, especially in people with cardiovascular disease: anxiety, sweating, breathing problems, arrhythmia, hypertension, severe headache, light disgust, retrosternal and throat pain, vomiting.
Dosage:
1 to 2 ml or more depending on the needs of the surgery, infiltrating or blocking the peripheral nerve. The anesthetic solution should be injected in small doses at a rate of about 1 ml / min after prior aspiration. In a healthy adult who has not received sedation, the maximum dose administered once or in several consecutive injections over a period of no more than 120 minutes is 300 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride and 0.2 mg of epinephrine. On a body weight basis, the maximum dose of lidocaine should not exceed 4.4 mg / kg, with a maximum total dose of 300 mg. Do not give more than 8.3 parts of Xylodont 2% 1: 100,000 and Xylodont 2% 1:80,000 and no more than 5.5 Xylodont 2% 1:50. In children, the doses given should be reduced in depending on body weight and age.
