Composition:
1 g of the solution contains 200 mg of borax.
Action:
Borax (sodium tetraborate) has antiseptic and disinfecting action. It inhibits the development of yeastsCandida albicans. It is used in the treatment of thrush, oral mucosa infections with Gram-positive bacteria and in the alternative to infections caused by Gram-negative blue oil rod. Applied to the oral mucosa, it penetrates into the general circulation; in about 50% it is excreted in the urine within 24 hours.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the preparation ingredients or to boric acid. Do not use on extensive wounds and cuts. Severe kidney problems.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with impaired renal function. Do not use long-term. Do not swallow.
Pregnancy and lactation:
From data obtained from a limited number of applications during pregnancy, no adverse effects of the active substance on the course of pregnancy and the state of health of the fetus / newborn are evident. There are no other relevant epidemiological data. It should not be used in pregnant or breast-feeding women.
Side effects:
The following may occur: anorexia, gastrointestinal disturbances (vomiting, diarrhea), menstrual disorders, confusion, convulsions, anemia, weakness. In children under 3 years of age, and also for long-term use on large surfaces of the mucous membrane, sodium tetraborate can be absorbed and exerts generalized side effects.
Dosage:
Locally at the oral mucosa: brush the oral cavity several times, rubbing the solution into infected areas. For children over 1 year of age, do not use for more than 3-5 days. In children under 1 year of age, the drug should be used in consultation with a doctor.
