Treatment of symptoms associated with inflammation of the mouth and throat (pain, redness, swelling) in the course of viral and bacterial infections, laryngitis, mucositis after radiation therapy, after surgery in laryngology and stomatology, after intubation. The tablets are used in conditions after tooth extraction.
Composition:
1 tabl for lozenge contains 3 mg benzydamine hydrochloride; 1 ml of the spray contains 1.5 mg benzydamine hydrochloride.
Action:
The preparation with local anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anesthetic and antiseptic. Benzydamine has a stabilizing effect on the cell membrane, inhibits prostaglandin synthesis under conditionsin vitro it has fungicidal activity. After oral administration, it is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum serum concentration is reached after 2-4 h. It accumulates in inflamed areas. It is excreted unchanged by the kidneys (half the dose) and in the form of N-oxide. When applied topically, it absorbs into the circulation (up to 5% of the dose) in a small amount.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. The tablets should not be used in patients with phenylketonuria due to the presence of aspartame.
Precautions:
Avoid contact of the aerosol with eyes. The methyl parahydroxybenzoate contained in the aerosol may cause an allergic reaction. Prolonged use of both forms may cause sensitization.
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no controlled studies on the use of the preparation during pregnancy. Data obtained on the basis of long-term use of benzydamine do not indicate a hazard related to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Side effects:
The most common are numbness or loss of sensation at the application site. Sting or tingling sensations may be less likely to occur, and in individual cases - slight burning of the mucous membrane. Local side effects are usually transient and disappear spontaneously. In individual cases, general side effects may occur: nausea, vomiting, pain and dizziness.
Dosage:
Table. for sucking: Oral. Adults and children from 6 years: 1 tabl. 3-4 times a day. The tablets should not be chewed or swallowed. Use in children under 6 years is not recommended.aerosolAdults and children over 12 years: 4-8 doses 2-6 times a day; children from 6 to 12 years: 4 doses 2-6 times a day; children under 6 years: 1 dose for 4 kg 2-6 times a day. Regardless of your body weight, do not exceed 4 doses at a time. In all age groups, the aerosol can not be used more often than every 1.5-3 hours.
