indications:
Treatment of symptoms (pain, redness, swelling) associated with inflammation of the mouth and throat, ie in bacterial and viral infections, laryngitis. Aerosol and solution can also be used in mucositis after radiation therapy, in conditions after surgery in laryngology and dentistry as well as after intubation.
Composition:
1 ml of Tantum Verde solution contains 1.5 mg benzydamine hydrochloride; 1 ml of Tantum Verde spray contains 1.5 mg; 1 ml of Tantum Verde Forte spray contains 3 mg of benzydamine hydrochloride; 1 Tantum Verde tablet with a lemon, eucalyptus, mint or honey-orange flavor contains 3 mg of benzydamine hydrochloride.
Action:
Preparation for topical use with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-swelling, local anesthetic and antiseptic. It reduces the changes in vessels caused by stimulated, adherent and moving leukocytes. Has stabilizing effects on cell membranes. It reduces capillary permeability, which is responsible for the anti-oedematous effect. It penetrates well through mucous membranes and accumulates in inflamed tissues. Minimally absorbed into the systemic circulation.
Contraindications:
The preparation is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of its excipients. Lips with lemon and mint flavor are contraindicated in patients with phenylketonuria (due to the content of aspartame).
Precautions:
Caution should be used in patients with a history of bronchial asthma due to the risk of bronchospasm. The use of long-term topical preparations may cause an allergic reaction. Due to the content of methyl p-hydroxybenzoate in Tantum Verde and Tantum Verde Forte, allergic reactions may occur in patients with hypersensitivity to p-hydroxybenzoic acid esters. Tablets should not be used in patients with congenital fructose intolerance due to isomalt content and in patients with hypersensitivity to Acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Pellets with honey-orange flavor contain sunset yellow and may cause allergic reactions.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Caution should be exercised when using the product during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Side effects:
Aerosol and solution - very rare: burning or dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, hypersensitivity reactions, disturbances of sensation, numbness, pain and dizziness, rash. Prolonged use may cause an allergic reaction. Pills - uncommon: phototoxic reactions; rarely: burning or dry mouth, hypersensitivity reactions; very rare: bronchospasm, angioneurotic edema.
Dosage:
Solution - about 15 ml of concentrated solution or diluted with a small amount of water, rinse the mouth and throat 2-3 times / day for 20-30 seconds. Aerosol (1.5 mg / ml) - adults and children over 12: 2-6 times / daily for 4-8 doses; children 6-12 years: 2-6 times / day for 4 doses; children under 6: 2-6 times / day after 1 dose for 4 kg body weight (maximum 4 doses at a time). Aerosol (3 mg / ml) - adults: 2-6 times / day for 2-4 doses. Pastilles - 1 tablet suck 3 times / day; do not use in children under 6 years. Continuous treatment should not last longer than 7 days.
