Treatment of local symptoms associated with acute inflammation of the mouth and throat.
Composition:
1 ml of solution contains 1.5 mg benzydamine hydrochloride. The preparation contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and ethanol.
Action:
A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for topical use in the oral cavity. Benzydamine is characterized by affinity to cell membranes and has a stabilizing effect on them and has local anesthetic effects. It does not inhibit cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase. It stimulates the synthesis of PGE2 in macrophages and inhibits phospholipase A activity to a small extent2 and lysophosphatidyl-acetyltransferases. After topical application, it penetrates very well through the skin and the surface of mucous membranes and accumulates in the tissues dislocated below, reaching concentrations higher than after oral administration. It is minimally absorbed into the circulation (up to 5% of the dose) and practically does not work systemically. It is excreted mainly from the urine in the form of inactive metabolites or conjugated compounds.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to benzydamine hydrochloride or other components of the preparation.
Precautions:
In the event of an allergic reaction, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate measures instituted. Due to the content of methyl parahydroxybenzoate, the drug may cause allergic reactions (possible late-type reactions). The drug contains a small concentration of ethanol.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Caution should be exercised when used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Very rare or unknown frequency: burning sensation of the oral mucosa, dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, hypersensitivity reactions, disturbances of sensation, numbness, dizziness, headache, rash. Local side effects are usually transient, disappear spontaneously and rarely require additional treatment. Benzydamine applied locally is absorbed in a small amount to the circulation, therefore, general side effects are very rare.
Dosage:
The product is applied topically, spraying the surface of the oral mucosa and / or throat.Children under 6 years old: 1 dose per 4 kg body weight, used 2-6 times a day, do not exceed 4 doses at a time.Children 6-12 years old: 4 doses of the drug once, used 2-6 times a day.Children over 12 years old and adults: 4-8 doses of the drug once, used 2-6 times a day.
