1 tabl powl. contains 300 mg of standardized St. John's wort herbal extract (1 tablet contains 1 mg hypericin).
Action:
A plant medicine with antidepressant effect. The mechanism of action is based on inhibition of reuptake of neurotransmitters, mainly serotonin and noradrenaline.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Do not use in organ transplant recipients who have positive HIV antibodies treated with protease-1 inhibitors.
Precautions:
Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during treatment.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.
Side effects:
Sensitive patients after excessive exposure to harsh sunlight may experience signs of hypersensitivity: rash, erythema occurring 24 hours after UV irradiation. Gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea, anxiety, fatigue, headache and allergic reactions have been very rare - discontinue use.
Dosage:
Oral: Adults and adolescents: 2-3 tabl. daily in divided doses before a meal. The effect occurs after 3-4 weeks of systematic use. Treatment can be continued for 8 weeks and then take a break for several weeks.
