Bacterial skin infections caused byStaphylococcus aureus, Streptacoccus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Proteus sp., Aerobacter aerogenes.Secondary infection of allergic lesions with the same etiology. Supportive in the treatment of burns and ulcers, prevention of wound infections and skin grafts.
Composition:
1 g Ointment contains 2 mg of nitrofural.
Action:
Nitrofural has an antibacterial effect on bacteria, such as:Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp.,Escherichia coli, Aerobacter aerogenes, Proteus sp.The exact mechanism of nitrofural action is not known. It has been shown to inhibit the action of bacterial enzymes such as: pyruvate dehydrogenase, citrate synthetase, malate dehydrogenase, glutathione reductase and pyruvate decarboxylase. Nitrofural is only slightly absorbed by intact and burned skin and mucous membranes, shows good penetration into the wound gaps.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Do not use in children under 12 years of age (no data on the use of this medicine in this group of patients). If symptoms occur, such as irritation, rash, local swelling, discontinue use.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation can be used during pregnancy only if the benefit outweighs the risk. Special care should be taken when breastfeeding, as it is not known if nitrofural is excreted in human milk.
Side effects:
Uncommon: allergic reaction in the form of contact eczema (pruritus, irritation, edema); allergic dermatitis, which should be treated symptomatically.
Dosage:
Externally on the skin: a thin layer of ointment cover 1-2 times a day, the affected lesions on the skin. It is recommended to use a sterile dressing at the same time.
