Isoosmotic and hypoosmotic dehydration (eg as a result of diarrhea and long-term vomiting or insufficient supply of fluids, loss of body fluids through biliary or intestinal fistulas). Electrolyte deficiencies. Irrigation in the perioperative period.
Composition:
100 ml of liquid contains 602 mg of sodium chloride, 367 mg of sodium acetate, 30 mg of Calcium chloride and 30 mg of potassium chloride.
Action:
Isotonic electrolyte solution. After intravenous administration, it increases the volume of extracellular fluid. Works hydrating and replenishes electrolyte deficiencies. Used in pediatrics. 100 ml of liquid provides 13 mmol sodium, 10.97 mmol chloride, 0.4 mmol potassium, 0.14 mmol Calcium, 2.7 mmol acetate. The osmolarity is 272 mosmol / l.
Contraindications:
Renal failure with oliguria or anuria. Overhydration. Severe metabolic acidosis. Too high concentration of one of the ions contained in the preparation.
Precautions:
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no data on contraindications for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Conduction, renal failure. Too fast feeding may cause heart failure, pulmonary edema and peripheral edema, especially in the elderly and those with circulatory disorders. Hypernatremia, hypercalcemia, hyperkalemia, hypercalciuria. Vein irritation and thrombophlebitis at the puncture site.
Dosage:
Intravenous: depending on the patient's condition, fluid requirements and electrolytes. Infants: usually 100 ml / kg / day, not exceeding the infusion rate of 2 ml / min. Children: usually 500-1000 ml / day at a rate of 5-8 ml / min.
