indications:
Electrolyte imbalance (especially hypochloremia and metabolic alkalosis) caused by long-term vomiting or gastric fistulas, suction and drainage of gastric contents.
Composition:
100 ml of liquid contains 368 mg of sodium chloride, 374 mg of ammonium chloride, 127 mg of potassium chloride.
Action:
Isotonic electrolyte solution with increased content of chloride and potassium ions compared to plasma. The composition of electrolytes is similar to the composition of gastric juice. It prevents the development of metabolic alkalosis, hypochloremia and hypokalemia caused by the loss of gastric juice. Its composition allows to supplement the current losses of potassium, but the concentration is too small to supplement the existing shortages. 100 ml provides 6.3 mmol of sodium, 1.7 mmol of potassium, 15 mmol of chlorine, 7 mmol of ammonium ions. The osmolarity is 300 mosmol / l.
Overhydration. Too fast administration may result in peripheral edema, pulmonary edema, and circulatory failure, especially in the elderly and patients with cardiovascular disorders.
Dosage:
Intravenous: depending on the patient's condition, fluid requirements, electrolytes and the amount of fluid lost, always based on the concentration of electrolytes in the blood. Typically 500-2000 ml / day, do not exceed the infusion rate of 10 ml / min.
