Prevention and treatment of the consequences of vitamin E deficiency. Deficiency and increased demand for vitamin E are associated with increased free radical production and oxidative stress processes that may occur, among others as a result of atherosclerosis of the blood vessels and ischemic heart disease, changes related to aging of the body, the impact of harmful environmental factors (pollution, UV radiation), immunity disorders.
Composition:
1 capsule contains 200 mg of all-acetate acetaterac-α-tocopheryl acetate. The preparation contains auxiliary substances: ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, cochineal red.
Action:
Vitamin E has an antioxidant effect. It prevents the formation of free oxygen radicals and lipid peroxides. Prevents the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids, stabilizes cell membranes and lipid intracellular structures. It affects prostaglandin biosynthesis and platelet aggregation. Absorption of vitamin E from the digestive tract is variable and generally does not exceed 50%. The degree of absorption increases in the presence of fats. The absorption decreases with increasing dose. Tocopherol in plasma binds to lipoproteins, mainly LDL, and is then distributed to most tissues, with the highest concentration being achieved in the adrenal glands, pituitary glands, testes and platelets. When high doses are administered, it accumulates. It is metabolized to a small extent in the liver. It is mainly excreted in faeces.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to vitamin E or other components of the preparation. Malabsorption syndrome.
Precautions:
Use with caution in cases of vitamin K deficiency and people taking oral anticoagulants or estrogens. The drug may cause late-type allergic reactions.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation can be used during pregnancy and lactation only if in the opinion of the doctor the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or breast-fed child.
Side effects:
Long-term use of high doses of vitamin E can cause fatigue, weakness, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, bloating, rashes, blurred vision.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults: 1-2 capsules per day. Therapeutic doses are always determined by the doctor. The product should be used preferably during a meal with a sufficient amount of liquid.
