Calcium deficiency states requiring rapid replenishment. Poisoning: Calcium antagonists with symptoms of circulatory disorders (drop in blood pressure, disturbances in conductivity), Magnesium sulfate, fluorides or oxalates. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Significant hyperkalemia with ECG changes.
Composition:
1 ampoule (10 ml) contains 1.0 g of calcium chloride (183 mg Ca).
Action:
A calcium preparation for parenteral administration. Calcium is the basic mineral component that affects the maintenance of the electrolyte balance of the body and the proper functioning of many regulatory mechanisms. It is indispensable in many processes, including neuromuscular transmission, muscle function, normal bone system development, blood coagulation processes, activation of certain enzymes, permeability of cell membranes and vessels. Administration of the preparation allows for quick supplementation of calcium deficiencies in the body.
The preparation should not be used to treat hypocalcaemia resulting from renal failure. It is not recommended to administer calcium chloride to patients with respiratory acidosis or respiratory insufficiency. Calcium chloride solution for injection must not be given orally to infants, as severe irritation of the gastrointestinal tract may occur. Infants do not inject into the veins on the head.
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no studies on the safety of the preparation during pregnancy. Calcium chloride penetrates through the placenta. During pregnancy, use only if the anticipated benefits outweigh the potential risk to the fetus. Calcium chloride is excreted in breast milk in very small amounts without affecting the child.
Side effects:
You may experience burning, tingling and a feeling of pressure at the injection site. Sometimes a moderate drop in blood pressure.
Dosage:
Individual, depending on the degree of calcium deficiency. Intravenously (at a rate of 1-2 ml / min). After the application, the patient should remain in the supine position for a few minutes.Calcium deficiency states requiring rapid replenishment: adults: 5-10 ml very slowly, the Next dose can be given after 1-3 days, depending on the patient's response and the results of the serum calcium values; children 0.2 ml / kg / day (20 mg / kg / day) give very slowly, the maximum dose is 1-10 ml per day.Poisonings: calcium antagonists with symptoms of circulatory disorders (drop in blood pressure, disturbances of conductivity), magnesium sulfate, fluorides or oxalates: adults should initially give 5 ml immediately after finding the poisoning, if necessary, the dose can be repeated.Cardiopulmonary resuscitationadults: give 5-10 ml very slowly.Significant hyperkalemia with ECG changes: adults, the preparation should only be administered under ECG monitoring.
