Composition:
1 tabl Effervescent contains 1.373 g of calcium lactogluconate (177 mg Ca.2+).
Action:
Calcium is the basic mineral component that affects the maintenance of the electrolyte balance of the body and the proper functioning of many regulatory mechanisms. It is indispensable in many processes, including neuromuscular guidance, regulation of muscle contraction, normal bone system development, blood coagulation processes, secretion and activity of some hormones, enzymes and neurotransmitters, permeability of cell membranes and blood vessels, transport of water and salts in the intestines. Administration of the preparation leads to sealing the endothelium of the vessels, reducing swelling and allergic reactions, restores normal muscle contractility and compensates for calcium deficiencies in the body. It stimulates the secretion of calcitonin, stimulates the secretion of beta-endorphins, has analgesic and antidepressant effects, stimulates physical activity and suppresses the secretion of parathyroid hormone, lowers plasma phosphate concentration. Calcium is absorbed in the duodenum and proximal segment of the small intestine by active transport, excreted in the faeces and urine, and in small amounts with saliva, sweat and milk.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Calcium, acute renal failure, kidney stones, hypercalciuria, hypercalcemia, active peptic ulcer disease, treatment with digitalis preparations.
Precautions:
Carefully used in hyperparathyroidism, overactive thyroid gland, in cancerous diseases with bone metastases, renal failure. Increased intake of vitamin D should be avoided.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects:
During use, gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting) may occur. Long-term use of the preparation and consumption of milk may lead to symptoms of the milk-alkaline syndrome (Burnett syndrome). There may also be: impaired renal function, hypercalcaemia (especially in combination with vitamin D). High doses of the preparation may increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmia.
Dosage:
Orally, three times a day for 1-2 tabl. (after dissolving the tablet in 1 / 3-1 / 2 cups of water).
