Composition:
1 tabl powl. contains 48 mg of magnesium ions (1.97 mmol) in the form of magnesium dihydrate and 5 mg of vitamin B6. The product contains sucrose.
Action:
Magnesium is an intracellular cation that reduces the excitability of nerve cells and neuromuscular transmission. In addition, it participates in many enzymatic reactions, plays a significant role in the contraction of the heart muscle, affects the state of neuromuscular excitability. Magnesium deficiency can cause disorders in the muscular system and in o.u.n. Magnesium is also a building block (half of the magnesium stores in the body are in the bones). Vitamin B6 increases magnesium absorption by 20-40%, facilitates transport to the body's cells and maintains its intracellular stores at an optimal level. Magnesium salts are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract on the principle of passive transport, the absorption does not exceed 50%; they are mainly excreted in the urine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Severe renal failure (creatinine clearance below 30 ml / min). Concomitant use of levodopa.
Precautions:
Do not use in children under 6 years. Particular care should be taken in patients with moderate renal insufficiency. In the case of combined magnesium and Calcium deficiency, magnesium deficiency should be compensated first. In the case of severe magnesium deficiency and malabsorption, treatment should begin with intravenous magnesium administration. Prolonged use of Pyridoxine (several months or even years) can cause axonal sensory neuropathy. Symptoms include: numbness and disorientation, vibrations in the distal parts of the limbs, and gradually progressive sensory ataxia (coordination disorder). In most cases, the symptoms disappear after discontinuation of pyridoxine. The product contains sucrose - is contraindicated in patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation can be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary. It can be used during breast-feeding.
Side effects:
The following may occur: diarrhea, abdominal pain, redness of the skin. Very rare: allergic reactions.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults: 6-8 tabl. daily in 2-3 divided doses. Children from 6 years (about 20 kg): 10-30 mg / kg daily, that is 4-6 tabl. daily in 2-3 divided doses. Swallow the tablets whole with plenty of water, take during meals. Typically, the treatment lasts for 1 month; in the absence of improvement after a month of use, continuing treatment is not recommended.
