Contests on AOS shifted
Introduction of an Internet Patient Account (IKP) - assumes the amendment of the Act adopted by the Sejm. The regulations provide for the possibility of mail order sale of prescription drugs to people with disabilities. In addition, under the act, contracts on AOS are to be extended until the end of 2019.
Thanks to IKP, every patient will haveonline access to information, among others about received prescriptions, referrals, orders for medical devices, benefits provided and their cost, the choices made by the doctor, nurse and midwife of primary health care, e-redundancies. Through IKP, the patient will also be able to authorize another person to access your medical data or health information.
In addition, the Act is to introduce uniform standards for information systems of hospitals and units that maintain medical records.
Shipping sales of Rx drugs to people with disabilities
The Act also contains provisions that have aroused much controversy, enabling mail-order sale of prescription drugs to people with disabilities. Recall that the deputies' amendment in this matter was notified and adopted during the first reading of the draft amendment to the Act. The apothecaries' environment - clustered in the professional self-government clearly contradicts this provision. On the pharmacy market, this idea has also gained supporters - its support was expressed, among others, byAssociation of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP) andPharmaNET Pharmaceutical Employers' Association. The opposition deputies also raised doubts during the work on the project.
Hospitals will buy medicines together
There are also other provisions in the Act that are controversial. The Act introduces the possibility of joint purchase of medicines and medical devices by hospitals. Directors of regional branchesNational Health Fund are to be obliged to monitor tenders for products subject torefund.
- The new regulations allow the Fund to jointly purchase medicines in the province. It's about group shopping, building purchasing power, because then you have a better position in relation topharmaceutical companies - Deputy Minister of Health Janusz Cieszyński emphasized.
Contests on AOS shifted
Extending, by the end of 2019, contracts with the NFZ for outpatient specialist care (AOS) - provides for another of the amendments introduced to the act during the first reading of the project.
The Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski announced the prolongation of the contracts at the end of June. Now the bill will go to the Senate.
