What favors precancerous skin changes?
Pre-cancerous changes are favored by some life situations and habits, which include: long-term sunbathing, sunburn in childhood, light skin complexion, exposure to ionizing radiation, family history of skin cancer, scars and post-traumatic skin changes (ulcers, burns, chronic fistulas), toxic chemicals on the skin and in the air (arsenic, herbicides, certain fungicides, hydrocarbons, petroleum derivatives, petroleum tar synthetic antimalarial agents), as well as tobacco smoke.
