Increasingly in the case of runny nose and cough, we reach for natural medicine, which gently restores health. Inhalation is one of the ways of this medicine.
Why inhalations?
The sprayed aerosol can easily reach the bloodstream through the mucous membranes of the nose and throat, so that its action is quick, effective and brings instant relief. It is a minimally invasive method, not loading the gastrointestinal tract, especially useful in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, as well as asthma exacerbations or smokers' disease - chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Steam inhalation for colds
If we feel that a cold is taking us, it starts to scratch in our throats and fly from the nose, it's time for a sausage. We add aromatic oils or herbs to very hot water and inhale the fumes. Such inhalation must be carried out 2-3 times a day for 10 minutes. We breathe the fumes deeply through our mouths and exhale through our mouths to best empty our lungs. The position should be comfortable, facilitating breathing with full chest. Do not be too bent, because it prevents full lung ventilation.
Bowl or glass
For inhalation you can use a pot or bowl of hot water and a towel to cover the head and the dish so that the aerosol of herbs or from the dropped oil does not dissipate too quickly and does not cool down. Another way can be a glass of boiling water, to which we add a few drops of oil, eg 10 drops of pine oil, and covering the liquid with a funnel used in the kitchen. Through the hole of the funnel, inhale the steam first with the lips and then with each nostril. We use this type of inhalation three times a day.
The important right mix of herbs
We must take care of the right mix of herbs. In the case of bronchitis, the desired effect is brought by the inhalation of essential oils, especially pine, which relaxes the bronchioles and facilitates the expectoration of secretions. Swelling of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract reduces the smell of the prime. Preferably, the chamomile herb and oil relaxes and has anti-inflammatory effects. Herbicides and essential oils of lavender and thyme and sage (the last one on the throat) are herbicidal.
For a cold
In the case of a cattle infection, it is worth inhaling from equal parts of thyme herb, chamomile basket, sage leaf and pine shoots. About 30 g of this mixture pour almost boiling water and inhale the vapors for 5 minutes. In case of a strong runny nose, the calcium inhalation will bring relief (they can be 10% ampoules or sparkling lime that needs to stand out). We use one ampoule or one tablet for a glass of water. In the initial stage of cold, when it is still watery, it is good to inhale in a glass of boiling water with 1 tablespoon of marjoram and 1 teaspoon of soda.
For purulent bacteria in the throat and sinus infection
When we suffer from purulent up-air or sinus infections, inhalation can be made from lavender, thyme, mint, chamomile, lemon balm (equal parts). When throat inflammation works effectively mix with thyme, camomile basket, sage leaf and pine shoots. Mix 30 grams of the mixture with hot water and inhale the steam for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times a day. All types of inhalation can be used in children, taking care, of course, not to get burned by boiling water. A small child can be placed with a steaming liquid for the whole night near the radiator. Infants should not use infusions and peppermint oils.
Inhalations from "rubbing" the breast
Another type of inhalation is rubbing the breasts with ready ointments, as well as oils, especially thyme, eucalyptus and camphor oil.It makes breathing easier by sprinkling oily tissue tissues that we use for cleansing the nose.
Moisturizing and disinfecting the flat
It is worth knowing that the beneficial effect of inhalation does not end with the action of a herbal mixture. Thanks to inhalations, the air ionization in the room also changes. Room overheated and dry autumn and winter, due to steaming change the negative ionization, favoring well-being and recovery.
Notes and warnings!
1. In some people inhalation can cause excessive congestion of respiratory mucosa - then reduce the frequency of treatments.
2. Inhaling should not be performed immediately after eating, and when we feel hungry, because the fumes, stimulating the mucous membrane of the throat, can cause vomiting.
3. If we are smokers and even infection does not force us to stop smoking, let's not burn at least half an hour before and two hours after it. The combination of irritating mucous smoke and therapeutic inhalation can contribute to the deterioration of health. Long conversations are also not recommended.
4. Remember that inhalation always causes significant congestion of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract. It becomes more sensitive to external factors: dust, smoke and frost - so we should avoid them after inhalation.
