How to care for the feet and prevent their sweating
Well-maintained feet improve our well-being on the beach, at the swimming pool, in the gym, or in an intimate situation. Condition - you need to devote a lot of time to hygiene and foot health every day. And finally, buy comfortable footwear.
Daily foot hygiene
In the summer it is desirable to wash your legs during the day at least twice! It must be remembered to thoroughly dry the space between the toes (moisture promotes ringworm!). We use soaps and washing liquids adapted to the pH of the skin, so as not to destroy its acidic pH which protects against infection of bacteria and fungi. If for some reason we can not maintain full hygiene, we use protective antibacterial and antifungal preparations. These can be special foot-care powders, ointments or gels that help soothe sores, or special foot deodorants.
Natural antibacterial and antifungal agents for the feet
A good antifungal and disinfection prophylaxis is rubbing the legs with the oil from the tea tree growing in Australia. The properties of this oil are unique. Prevent (and cure) bacterial and fungal infections. Do not mix the tea tree oil with the water extract from the leaves of the shrub from which aromatic tea leaves are collected. These are two completely different plants. The oil from endemic Australian tea tree has been used by Aborigines as a healing agent since time immemorial. He came to Western countries recently and immediately became the most valuable ingredient in bactericidal and fungicidal creams, ointments, emulsions, gels and soaps. Similar, but not so strong properties have extracts and essential oils of sage, lavender, rosemary, juniper, lavender, thyme, mint.
Good and comfortable footwear
In the warm season, we try to wear shoes that are airy and comfortable, on low, stable heels. Before putting on the bare foot, the shoes gently talc, which prevents maceration of the epidermis. Let's also remember to buy sandals about half a size larger than usually worn size, with wide straps that will not painfully cut into the skin. During heat, the feet swell and extend by a few millimeters. You can stock up on "breathable" insoles or special heel inserts (you can wash them) that will not let you bake the skin unpleasantly.
When the skin is baked from walking
If you have already had a sore foot - it is good to soak it in water with a chamomile, lemon balm or sage infusion or in a warm solution of potassium permanganate. Swelling and burning of feet are also reduced by swimming in cold water with the addition of ordinary table salt. In contrast, tiredness in the legs soothes the bath with the addition of Ciechocinek salt. Finally, an important note! After a healing bath, rinse your feet and wipe them carefully with a towel, most accurately between your fingers. Do not wear socks and shoes until the interdigital treatment is dry. If you do not do it - the moisture in the interdigital spaces can become a habitat of the fungus, while the wet skin is easier to rub against, which facilitates the access of germs to the tissues.
Thickened epidermis
Our epidermis is constantly growing. On the foot, it does not peel in contact with the surface of the shoes, as in other places. At this point it hardens and becomes thickened if it is not removed in time. We can successfully remove hardened skin at home.
1. First, soak your feet in water with the addition of soap or gel and three tablespoons of kitchen or medical salt. The salt softens the callous epidermis, making it easier to remove it with a special tareczką.
2. When the skin becomes soft, wipe off excess with a special cloth (eg KillyS) or a file.In the case of heavily raised skin, we can use a special device with sharp inserts. Then, however, we remove the skin very gently and carefully so as not to get injured, which may initiate an infection. (Do not use pumice, because it is a habitat of bacteria and fungi!).
3. Once every 10 days, we do peeling with an exfoliating cream or use ointment to remove calloused epidermis.
4. Do not forget about everyday use of foot creams (especially in summer), for example based on sage, camphor, mint or chamomile. They soften and smooth the epidermis, soothe irritations, give a nice feeling of freshness and prevent perspiration.
FEATURES, MODELS AND WRISTING NAILS
We fight with imprints and calluses
Small calluses on the surface of the feet, called callosum (in yellowish shade) or corns and fingerprints (on or between fingers), are caused by excessive pressure, e.g. footwear. If the changes are not too deep, we can try to get rid of them at home. The prints that are between the last toes must be separated from the healthy skin by wearing a special rubber wedge. Special patches, liquids and ointments are also available for removing fingerprints - available in pharmacies. The imprint should be softened with an ointment or a suitable patch for patches (patches we wear for 2-3 days) and remove the core and accumulated skin with pliers or fingernails. The best plasticizing imprints are in the shape of a tire (different sizes) and are glued only on the imprint, protecting the skin next to it. After sticking them, an ointment or liquid can be used. Warning! These products may contain salicylic acid, which is contraindicated for people with diabetes and circulatory problems.

Daily nail care
Cut the nails at the feet in a straight line, without cutting the sides, which prevents ingrown nail. People with diabetes should limit themselves to filing nails. Note: We saw a nail file before soaking your feet, and cut the nails after soaking. We do not cut the skin, just pull it away with a towel or a spatula from the edge of the nail. If the skins are overgrown with a nail plate, we move them away from the edge of the towel, pedicure stick, etc. You can also use a special liquid for removing the cuticles. We avoid blades and other sharp tools.
Ingrown nails
If the lateral margin of the toe of the big toe deeply grows into the epidermis, then when walking, it squeezes and sticks into the folds surrounding the nail. This is sometimes very painful and can lead to abscess and inflammation. Then you should soak your feet in a weak solution of potassium permanganate. It also helps to put pieces of cotton wool under the edge of ingrown nails and instillation of a special liquid that softens the nails and prevents inflammation. In serious cases, special nails are used (in some practices that perform a health pedicure).

When they sweat feet
It is an unpleasant and embarrassing complaint, especially when you feel it. The unpleasant odor of the feet is caused by the bacteria of the epidermis legs that react with fatty acids in the abundant process of perspiration. Under normal conditions, we emit up to 2.5 liters of sweat per day! When we work physically and the temperature of the environment is quite high we can "sweat" 4-5 liters. In the tropics - even 10 liters! Sweating is therefore a natural physiological process of our body, whose main role is thermoregulation. However, there are ways that should protect us from embarrassing situations.
Causes of excessive sweating of the feet
Excessive sweating of feet can be the result of internal disorders of the body, various metabolic diseases, e.g. diabetes, obesity or some infectious diseases. Foot sweat often teases during puberty and during menopause - this is caused by the hormonal storm in the body. This condition affects more often nervous persons who are in constant nervous tension. Often the cause of foot sweating is wearing inadequate footwear and plastic socks. It is also worth paying attention to the "breathing" of the skin and "hardening" of the feet. Our feet are too often "clothed" and overheated, which makes breathing difficult and promotes excessive perspiration. So when it is possible - and especially in the summer - we should give them some "respite" - that is, walk barefoot. It is best to walk barefoot on the grass, on the sand, but also on uneven ground, which greatly improves blood circulation. And of course also on the floor in the apartment.
Simple measures to prevent excessive sweating of the feet
Sweat often accumulates on the soles of the feet, where there are nearly 1000 sweat glands. This can be prevented by wearing socks made only of natural fibers (wool and cotton), open-toed summer shoes, sandals or other airy shoes. The everyday hygiene obligation of each of us should be (especially in summer!) Using talcs that absorb moisture. After each feet wash, people with hyperhidrosis should be rubbed in antiperspirant. It is good to wash sweating feet with cool water. Such water shrinks tiny blood vessels and inhibits the work of sweat glands. Conversely, a too warm bath will stimulate sweat glands to work more intensively.
Sweating feet are prevented by herbal baths.
Mix 15 grams of willow bark, oak bark, walnut and sage, 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture pour 1 liter of water and heat until boiling, then leave to stand for half an hour, decoction and pour into a bowl with warm water. You can also apply foot baths in sage infusion and nettle. It also works well with a bath of walnut leaves (5 tablespoons of leaves for 3 liters of water). Lavender, rosemary and thyme infusions that also have bacterial and fungicidal action are recommended for footbaths. Foot baths should be done 2-3 times a week, after about 20 minutes.
Aromatherapy counteracts foot sweating
The sweat of the feet, especially the unpleasant odor, combats the aromatherapy massage with such oils as: cedar, bergamut, citronella, lemon, tea tree, geranium, hyssop, juniper, lavender, patchouli, thyme, and ylang oil. For example, up to 10 ml of base oil (usually it is grape seed oil) - add 3 drops of tea tree oil + 2 drops of cypress oil and anoint it with your feet and massage gently.
Foot-sweating diseases
Excessive morbid secretion of sweat - which is called hyperhydrosia - promotes the disease:
- obesity
- some diseases (hyperthyroidism, diabetes, infectious and febrile diseases)
- hormonal disorders
In view of this type of causes, the therapeutic principle is to improve the care of the treatment of the underlying disease.
