A common explanation for health problems with overweight and obesity is the so-called "Bad metabolism".
Of particular importance in the development of many disorders of health and diseases is the so-called visceral fat tissue. Obesity initiates such diseases as: diabetes, hypertension and lipid disorders, spine diseases and many more.
Patients most often understand by poor metabolism such as constipation
They try to heal - drinking herbal teas that act laxative and supposedly help in slimming. Abnormal gastrointestinal work and problems with bowel movements are a consequence of abnormal eating habits and do not cause weight gain.
What is metabolism?
Metabolism or metabolism is the whole of biochemical processes and the associated transformation of energy occurring in the cells of the living organism. Its condition and manifestation is the exchange of matter and energy between the organism and the environment.
BASIC TRANSFORMATION OF MATERIALS (PPM)
To keep the body alive, we must provide energy in the form of food. This "cost of living" is BASIC TRANSFER OF MATERIAL (PPM), which is about 50-70% of the daily energy expenditure of a human being. PPM is defined as the lowest level of energy transformation taking place on an empty stomach, in a lying position, in complete physical and mental calmness, providing energy necessary for the proper course of life processes (maintaining body temperature, metabolic activity of the brain, liver, kidneys and muscles, blood circulation and lymph, intestinal peristalsis and other basic functions of the body).
The value of basic metabolism depends on many factors, among others it affects it:
- sex,
- age,
- body size,
- physiological condition and state of health and nutrition,
- endocrine activity
- and genetic factors.
The average PPM value of a healthy adult human is about 1 kcal / 1 kg body weight / 1 hour.
Basal metabolic rate decreases with hypothyroidism, adrenal cortex diseases, pituitary insufficiency, malnutrition and others, and increases in hyperthyroidism, leukemia, fever, pregnancy and after administration of some drugs (epinephrine, caffeine). The physiological reduction of the basic metabolism occurs with age (after 18 years of age when growth processes end).
Warning! PPM is also reduced when using deficient, very low energy diets and fasting.
OVER-BASED TRANSFER OF MATTRESS.
The remaining 30-50% of the daily energy expenditure, i.e. THE TOTAL TRANSITION OF THE MATERIAL, is OVER-BASED TRANSITION OF THE MATERIAL. The basic transformation of Matter is a part of energy that is used to perform a variety of activities - physical and mental work, maintaining a constant body temperature and eating, digesting and absorption of food. It depends on: type of physical exercise, type of food consumed, amount of body fat and body weight.
When are we tying?
To ensure proper body weight, a balanced balance should be maintained between the amount of energy supplied with food and the body used. When the energy balance is positive, the excess of unused energy is stored as fat in adipose tissue.
To lose weight, the energy balance should be negative
- that is, you should provide less energy than the body expends. The body needed for living energy will draw from accumulated fat stores.
